Tarragindi Music Studio (‘TMS’) is a small business offering music lessons to students of all ages. TMS offers a complete range of services, including singing, guitar, drum and piano lessons.

When you enquire about our services, or become a student of TMS, a record is created, which includes your personal information.

From recruitment agencies, past employers or nominated referees) Before offering you a position, we pay collect additional details necessary to conduct background checks to determine your suitability for certain positions (for example, where you will be working with children)

4 HOW AND WHY DOES TMS COLLECT AND IS USE YOUR INFORMATION?

4.1 TMS collects personal information reasonably necessary to carry out our business, assess and manage student’s needs, and provide in person and online teaching services. We may also collect information to fulfil administrative functions associated with these services. 

4.2 The purpose for which TMS usually collects and uses personal information depends on the nature of your interaction with us, but may include:

  • Responding to information requests and lesson inquiries

  • Tracking and feedback of a student’s progress

  • Lesson information

  • Changes to lesson schedules

  • Responding to requests, enquiries and complaints

5 CAN YOU DEAL WITH TMS ANONYMOUSLY?

5.1 TMS will provide individuals with the opportunity of remaining anonymous or using a pseudonym in their dealings with is where it is lawful and practicable (for example, when making a general enquiry) 

5.2 Generally, it is not practicable for TMS to deal with individuals anonymously or pseudonymously on an ongoing basis. If we do not collect personal information about you, you will be restricted in utilising our services.


6 HOW DOES TMS HOLD INFORMATION?

6.1 TMS stores information in paper-based or electronic record keeping methods in secure databases (including trusted third-party storage providers based in Australia and overseas). Personal information may be collected in paper-based documents and converted to electronic form for use or storage (With the original paper document)

6.2 Our websites and social-media do not necessarily use encryption or other technologies to ensure the secure transmission of information via the internet. Uses of our websites and social media profiles are encouraged to exercise care in sending personal information via the internet. 

6.3 We take steps to destroy or de-identify information that we no longer require. 


7 HOW DOES TMS USE AND DISCLOSE PERSNAL INFORMATION?

7.1 For students: 

The purposes for which we may use and disclose your personal information will relate directly to the teaching services we are providing to you or your child.

7.2 Disclosure to contractors (teachers) and other service providers

TMS may disclose information to third parties we engage in order to provide teaching services, including contracted teachers and service providers used for information technology services and support, website maintenance, administration assistance etc. 

Third parties to whom we have disclosed your personal information may contact you directly to let you know they have collected your personal information.

7.3 Use and disclosure for administration and management 

TMS will also use and disclose personal information for a range of administrative, management and operational purposes. This includes:

  • Administering billing and payments and debt recovery;

  • Planning, managing, monitoring and evaluating our services;

  • Quality improvement;

  • Training staff, contractors and other workers;

8.2 Unless we have your consent, or an exception applies, we will only disclose your personal information to overseas recipients where we have taken reasonable steps to ensure the overseas recipient does not breach the APPs in relation to your personal information.

9.1 You have the right to access or amend personal data that is held by TMS upon request. To request access, please contact the studio owner using the contact details set out below. 

9.2 You will not be charged for making a request to access your personal information.

9.3 We will take reasonable steps to ensure that persona information we collect, use or disclose is accurate, complete and up to date. You can assist us by letting us know if yu notice any discrepancies or your personal details change

9.4 If you consider any of the personal information we hold about you to be inaccurate, out of date, incomplete, irrelevant or misleading you are entitled to request to have the information removed or corrected. The studio will take reasonable steps to correct or remove your information


10 CHANGES TO THIS POLICY

TMS may amend this privacy policy from time to time, with or without notice to you. We recommend that you visit our website regularly to keep up to date with any changes
